Trini Producer, Stadic Viral Tik-Tok Challenge Attracts British Rapper Stefflon Don

In less than one week since it was posted, Trinidadian producer Stadic ‘Freestyle Tik-Tok Challenge’ has now gone viral, attracting over 800 video submissions including freestyles from British Rapper and Singer Stefflon Don. Yes, the ‘Hurtin Me’ singer took the freestyle to another level with her video being reposted on popular Instagram sites such as The Shade Room (with over 1.3 million views), Hot 97, and Hollywood Unlocked.

Since then, ‘Stadic’ whose real name is Kevin Charles, has confirmed that Steflon Don will be featured on the completed riddim after she reached out to them earlier this week. But the freestyle fun hasn’t stopped yet, attracting some of the Caribbean’s very own soca heavy hitters such as Skinny Fabulous, Lyrikal, Bunji Garlin, (whose freestyle was also featured on the BET Music’s IG page), and also Bermudian Reggae artiste, Collie Buddz.

The Trini-born, St. Vincent & Grenadines-raised music producer is no stranger when it comes to working with some of the biggest names in the Soca and Dancehall music industry. To date, his impressive musical credits include some of your favorite Soca and Dancehall riddims alongside stars such as Vybz Kartel, Beenie man, Shenseea, Mavado, Konshens, Chris Martin, Ding Dong, Teejay, Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons, Mr. Killa, Patrice Roberts, Destra Garcia, Kes, Nailah Blackman, and the list goes on. Not only has he worked with many of your faves, but his music has also been featured in television shows and movies such as Spike Lee’s ‘See You Yesterday’ Bravo’s ‘Real House Wives of Atlanta”, VH1’s ‘Girls Cruise’ and others.
In an interview with Looptt, Stadic shared that the challenge has been going crazy with the many submissions received thus far. Initially, he began the challenge on Tik Tok recently, after joining less than one month ago, in an effort to promote his new project alongside Billboard-charting producer, Johnny Blaze. One of the main issues he had is that people always said that they didn’t give the small artistes a chance on their ‘big riddims’. So the challenge came about in an effort to give everyone the opportunity. The submissions are being judged and chosen online by fans solely. The ones who get the most love will be selected.
So far, it has been confirmed that Jamaican Dancehall Artistes Ding Dong and British-Jamaican Dancehall Artistes Stylo G will be on the riddim. Additionally, one of the earlier freestyle submissions by United States Virgin Islands artiste, Adam O has already earned the fan’s support and Stadic’s approval. Other submissions also include Orlando Octave, Kerry John, Turner, Skinny Banton, Sammy Jo, Nelly Cottoy, Young Devyn, Azaryah, Imani Ray, and so many more. It seems like fans may have quite the task while choosing their faves.
The competition is expected to end on Tuesday 27th April 2021 and the winners will be tallied and announced on the popular IG Live show ‘Vibes with Voicey’ on Thursday 29th April 2021. For more updates on the competition and to stay updated with Stadic, you can click here.
